The Marine Biology class went on an incredible field trip to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute - one of the top research institutions in the world - on September 25th. The trip included a research cruise through the Zephyr Education Foundation where students were able to complete camera surveys of benthic environments, bottom trawls, and species assessments. For the first time we were also provided with a tour of the DeepTech Collaborative and the AVAST Innovation Hub at WHOI. The collaborative designs, produces, and tests robots, vehicles, and sensors that are sent to some of the deepest places in the oceans and are critical to collecting data in places where humans cannot access.
